On September 30th we recognize the National Day of Truth and Reconciliation. We come together to honor and remember the Indigenous children whose lives were lost and the survivors of the residential school system. This day is an important reminder of our collective responsibility to acknowledge the painful history of these institutions and to support the ongoing journey toward healing and justice.
The Registered Psychiatric Nurses Association of Saskatchewan stands in solidarity with Indigenous communities, reflecting on the profound resilience and strength they have shown. It’s a time to listen to their stories, educate ourselves about the impacts of colonialism, and commit to meaningful actions that contribute to reconciliation.
Let us use this day as a catalyst for change, fostering understanding and respect in our communities. Together, we can work towards a future where truth and reconciliation pave the way for justice, equality, and a stronger, united society.
