The RPNAS is pleased to share 2 guideline documents that will assist you in your practice:
- Medication Administration: Guideline for Registered Psychiatric Nurses
- Practice Guideline: Registered Psychiatric Nurse Beyond Entry-Level Competencies
The Registered Psychiatric Nurse Beyond Entry Level Competencies Practice Guideline provides direction for RPNs on the safe implementation of RPN beyond entry level competencies. The guideline may also be used by RPNs, employers, and interprofessional team collaborators to support the utilization of RPN beyond entry level competencies to achieve safe, accessible, and client-centered care in the best interest of the client.
The Medication Administration Guidelines for Registered Psychiatric Nurses provides further information to RPNs, employers, and other internal and external partners about RPN responsibilities for safe medication administration and management.
